On the evening of November 30, VNA participated in a gala dinner and fundraising event, which was part of the “Scar of Life” event series. This event was also included in the “Heartbeat Vietnam” program held by The VinaCapital Foundation to provide opportunities for heart surgery for underprivileged children affected by congenital heart defects nationwide.
“Scar of Life 9” under the theme of “Paper plane” presented a short film conveying the message “Give Love to Bring Better Lives to the Children.” This meaningful and emotional film revolves around two underprivileged brothers with congenital heart defects, whose ultimate dream is to be healthy. The two children make paper planes every day and fly them into the sky, hoping that their wishes will soon come true…

The gala dinner “Scar of Life 9” gathered 300 business leaders, artists, and embassy employees. The event held three auctions selling humanistic artworks, sophisticatedly crafted items, and services and products donated by agencies, businesses, and philanthropists.
At the event, ten VNA flight tickets for Business Class seats from Ha Noi or Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang and vouchers at MIA Resort in Nha Trang were sold directly for USD 15,000. With such a generous amount of money, VNA has contributed to providing 12 healthy hearts for underprivileged children with congenital heart defects.
“Heartbeat Vietnam” funds heart surgeries for economically disadvantaged children under 18 years of age. “Scar of Life” program has been operating for nine years running, donating a total of USD 2,549,769; thus, saving 2,367 children with congenital heart defects in Vietnam.
At the 30th anniversary of “Operation Smile” held in November in Vietnam, two international flight tickets and two domestic flight tickets of VNA were auctioned for the final sum of USD 11,300, bringing smiles to 30 Vietnamese children.
VNA, with its message “Flight of Love,” has been co-operating with international organizations such as Facing the World, Operation Smile, Newborn Vietnam, and Vietnam National coordinating center for human organ transplantation on the journey of providing public health care and fulfilling corporate social responsibility.
